Savoy Apartments

Overland Park, Kansas

Our conceptual approach to this renovation revolved around identifying the clients functional needs for the existing clubhouse, offices and amenity spaces. We identified areas that worked and were no longer preferred by residents. The goal was to infuse a more modern look while staying cohesive with the existing, traditional exterior. We were tasked with reconfiguring an unused theater space to be repurposed as a work area for their work from home residents. This new area houses two offices, a conference room and kitchenette. Their previously unused business center, sauna and tanning areas were reconfigured into an indoor-outdoor lounge and kitchen area and a package locker space easily accessible from the exterior. We worked with their existing stone floors, window and door millwork and enhanced the main club room with new panel molding which draws attention to their stately high ceilings. The existing fitness center had a drop ceiling that was removed which opens up the space to expose high ceilings with windows on the upper walls which adds lots of natural light. Classic paint colors, new lighting and FF&E was selected to give each area a modern, updated style. The windows were left uncovered to bring in the colors of nature which accentuates the new materials.
